About

Dedicated to giving a future purpose and function to quality pieces from the past, Mongers Architectural Salvage is no ordinary reclamation yard. Reclamation, re-use and upcyling are important elements in the fight to preserve our environment. Mongers’ expertise provides a future to fittings from our built environment to help preserve our planet.

We at Mongers use our vast experience and many local craftspeople to restore architectural antiques and objects in order that they can be practicably re-used. A wide and varied stock consists mainly of reclaimed goods or items manufactured from salvaged materials.

Originally established in 1997 by Sam Coster and his late wife Trudie. Mongers is now run by Sam and Louise Coster.

Mongers Showrooms

Situated in a timber-framed property and related outbuildings in Hingham’s fine Georgian market place are Mongers’ showrooms. Many fireplaces, chimneypieces, cast iron radiators and bathrooms are attractively displayed, along with polished brassware, glass, lighting, doors and assorted accessories. In total there is around about 2,000 sq ft of showroom space a yard and a garden. Also on the same premises are Mongers' workshops, where many items are lovingly restored, and storage for timber, cast radiators and other bulk items.

A visit to the showrooms is recommended in order to appreciate the full range of our stock. Opening times: 9.30am – 5.30pm Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri, 9.00am – 4pm Sat, Weds by appointment only.
