Mongers to Supply Pig's Toilets

Mongers to supply Pig’s toilets

Co-owner of The Pigs public house and restaurant in Edgefield, Norfolk, Iain Wilson approached Sam Coster at Mongers with the sort of request that we here get excited about.Iain felt the pub needed some unusual fixtures and fittings that would be a talking point for his customers. Well unique and quirky sanitaryware is what Mongers can do in abundance.

We first sourced some urinals from a Victorian Theatre in East London with Art Nouveau decoration. The toilet pans are each individual with names such as “The Esco,” “Vale”, and “Tryon” fitted with handmade seats and polished high-level cisterns. The doors are from a Convent, each one is sign written with names of Saints and fitted with quality period brass fittings.

Mongers were also able to source the quirky wall coverings and accessories. We hope people will travel miles to this North Norfolk watering hole, not just for the fine food and beer but to see the temples of convenience as well.

The Pigs co-owned by Iain Wilson, owner of Byfords in Holt and Norfolk celebrity chef Richard Hughes of The Lavender House, is committed to “providing honest food, locally sourced, skilfully prepared and treasonably priced.”
